Killin Church Hall up for sale

2 years ago Killin News

The former Killin Church Hall in Killin has been put up for sale by it’s owners. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park have also approved plans for the demolition of the current Church Hall and the erection of a dwelling house on the ground.

The Church Hall has been home to many events, meetings and group gatherings through it’s lifetime, many will recall attending Brownies, Playgroups or Christmas parties within the building.

Neighbours had an informal agreement with the land owners to use the hall car park for parking their vehicles and access to their gardens and sheds which may no longer be in place if planned demolition and redevelopment begins.

The Church Hall,I take it is owned by the Church Of Scotland. Wouldn’t it be nice and in keeping with the spirit of religion if the Church gifted the hall to the local children of the village. Then the children of the village would benefit from the gift, for many years to come.

Great publicity for the Church of Scotland.

There are several youth groups in the village who could use it and maybe even share ownership.

I am sure local tradesmen would help the Groups bring the hall up to standard.

I have discussed this request with a Church Representative , but the request fell on deaf ears,

maybe the Church HQ in Edinburgh is the way to go.

  • “Mick believes the hall was donated to the Church early 60s by public works contractors to Scottish Hydro Board. So Church has had revenue for approx 50 years so should now give back to the village.”
