Waste Management Stirling Council David Hopper
The Killin skip is to stay closed due to no funding and regulatory issues.
The brown asbestos deposited into the skip was the last straw in the fight to
keep our skip open. This illegal tipping caused regulatory issues to come to
a head and Sepa won’t allow a new license for the skip as dangerous
substances may be deposited again in the skip and it may contaminate the
water course behind the skip therefore the skip is to stay closed. We as a
community are to travel to the Callander skip to dispose of our rubbish, not
very eco friendly, carbon footprint etc.
Fly tipping may be a problem so it must be reported to the police or call
0845 277 7000. Stirling Council will uplift rubbish for a fee of £30.00 but
you must detail every item as they won’t lift any item not listed.
There is a subsidy for Pensioners nobody could tell us what age or how
much this would be.
Streetscape is to deal with random rubbish.
Village officer is still ongoing.
Bottom toilets are now open.
