    Greetings
My ggg grandfather Alexander MCNAB b. abt 1787, Killin married Catharine DEWAR 1810, Balquhidder. They came to Canada aboard the ‘Niagara’ in 1825 with a group of settlers brought out by Laird Archibald McNab They settled in McNab Twp. Renfrew Co., Canada. Records indicate Alexander was a teacher before coming to Canada.
I am trying to establish whether Alexander was a brother to John MCNAB who married Janet MCINTYRE and came to Renfrew Co. in the 1830s.
Also interested in conditions in Killin area during 1820s.
    With thanks

Hello, from yet another McNab! and best wishes to all in the very beautiful Killin area.

I am keen to hear from anyone who may have any connection or information in about my relatives…

John McNab m Janet Clark at Killin church Nov 30 1800. They had 9 children, Helen, Betty, Margaret, Alexander, John, Janet, William, Ann and her twin Isabella. All Christened in either Forteviot or Tibbermore, Perthshire. William married Isabella Sinclair, moved to Dundee, had a family and immigrated to Australia in 1852 aboard the ‘Flora’. I have a solid history of the subsequent McNab’s in Australia but not about what became of the other siblings and parents – John & Janet.

    Looking forward to any assistance…

    kind regards,

    Christina McNab (Australia)

    Hello to all,
I too have a ggg Alexander MacNab b.1771 and married a Grace MacDonald don’t know the date, or where they were located in Scotland. My family lived around Osgoode Twsp. just 20m se of Ottawa Canada. I don’t know when they arrived in Canada as my info is some what limited. Still have many relatives that live in that area. My immediate family moved to the US sometime in 1947. It’s nice to hear from other MacNabs because we are probably some how related even very slightly.
I visited Killin in 1991 and really enjoyed the people and the amazing views of the countryside, and the MacNab burial grounds.
