Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me trace my family name, and if it is connected to the town’s name. I visited Killin several years ago on a family vacation and found it beautiful, however i am older now and I am very interested in finding out my family history. I know my great-grandfather was in World War 1 and faught for Canada, as i have his signing papers, however he emmigrated from Scotland. His mother’s name was Catharine Killin however this is as far back as records go. I am also not sure if i have a deep family history in the town, or if it is as simple as someone taking on the towns name when they moved to Canada. If anyone could help me figure this out i would be more than thankful.
