Stirling Council has changed glass collection to four weekly, moving away from the previous two.
The council said that the change was made in response to feedback from some members of the public, as well as data from collections that show a marked decrease in the glass collected every two weeks. However, there was no full consultation with either Community Councils or members of the public.
Councillor Martin Earl said, “I have been calling for a full, open, review of the new waste collection service for months. This would surely be sensible to address what is and what is not working well, including collection days and regularity of each bin/box collected”.
Stirling Council recently won the SOLACE Best Team prize at the COSLA Excellence Awards for the implementation of the waste collection Alternative Delivery Model (ADM).
Local residents can stay up to date on when bins will be collected in their area on the Stirling Council website.
